12d® ASCII is an ASCII-based data format used to transfer object definitions in to and out of 12d Model™ software - a civil design application from 12d Solutions Pty Ltd.

The 12d Data Extension for Autodesk® Civil 3D® is designed to facilitate the import and export of 12d ASCII files in to and out of Civil 3D software.

This extension features comprehensive support for 12d ASCII files from all known versions of 12d Model up to and including Version 9.0.

As you prepare to install this extension, keep the following in mind:

Back Up Custom Files

It is recommended that you back up all custom CUIX, MNR, and MNL files before you apply this extension.

Administrative Privileges

During installation or uninstallation, you may be prompted for the original installation media or a network image. In order to apply this extension, you must have privileges to install and uninstall products.

Close the Application

It is required that you close Autodesk^® Civil 3D^® 2023 before proceeding with the installation of this extension.

Reboot

After you install, it is recommended to reboot your system even if not prompted.

About Your Product

After you install, product information is displayed in the About dialog box.

Follow these instructions to install this extension on a single computer.

1. Download the extension and save it to any folder.
2. Close all running Autodesk applications.
3. Find the folder where you saved the extension and double-click the executable (.exe) file.

1. Download this extension and save it to any shared folder on your local network.
2. Close all running Autodesk applications.
3. Find the shared folder where you saved the extension, and double-click the executable (.exe) file.

This extension can be uninstalled through the Program and Features section of the Microsoft® Windows® Control Panel.

Follow these instructions to uninstall this extension on a single computer.

1. Insert the product media (for example, the Autodesk Civil 3D installation disc) or make sure the installation source files are available.
2. In Windows Control Panel > Program and Features, click on the Autodesk Data Extension for 12d 2023 and choose the Uninstall option.
3. In the Autodesk Data Extension for 12d 2023 maintenance dialog box click Yes to confirm that you want to uninstall the extension.
